Teachers
Jean
I have completed 34 years of music instruction! I feel very blessed to have been able to work at something that has always been my passion. It has been my experience to work with amazing supporting staff and wonderful students. I am privileged to have the responsibility of working with peoples' greatest treasure – their children!
Watching a student's pleasure as they achieve the goals we set is extremely rewarding. Seeing things through children's eyes is a great way of staying grounded. Children are very honest and genuine and extremely malleable. As teachers we have the power to make or break! This is very serious and I stress this to all the Pedagogy students: fragile, handle with care!
It is wonderful to be a positive role model for these young people that are willing to expose themselves because I really care about them and am interested in them as a person, not just a student. What a treat to have the academy where I now have piano grandchildren!!
Theresa
Theresa has been with "JAM" since 1999. She teaches piano, violin, and voice. Her violin instructors include Walter Neufeld and Calvin Dyck. She has studied voice with Rudy Berg, Les Neufeld, Beckie Lapointe, and Emilia Boronco. Loretta Braun, Jean Ritter, and Dina Pollock have been her piano teachers.
Music is not her only interest. She has a vast knowledge of horse breeding and training, and has also been a riding instructor. Her latest activity includes boxing, so occasionally she sports a black eye or broken nose!
Theresa would be happy to hear from you.
